2009-2010 NSERC Strategic Project Grants

In February NSERC awarded $53.5 million to 122 applications in the 2009 Strategic Project Grants competition. The competition attracted the highest number of applications in recent years (465 in total), yielding a success rate of 26 per cent. Among successful applications was the research proposal "The development of comprehensive multiphse NMR spectroscopy to understand environmental contamination at the molecular level" by Andre Simpson and Myrna Simpson (University of Toronto Scarborough) in collaboration with Bruker BioSpin and Environment Canada. They have been awarded $450,000 over three years.
